BACKGROUND
Can we clearly state that the radiation emitted by mobile phones is harmful to users?
The scientific community does not have a single, unified position on this question. Our personal standpoint, however, is that whether there is an effect or not, applying the precautionary principle cannot cause harm. We believe that prevention is more often a better approach than dealing with potential consequences later.
There are various solutions available for those concerned about electromagnetic radiation. We have tested several options, and based on our own experience, the combination used in FONADisc proved to be the most effective for us
The experiment we made for ourselves was the one that convinced us most strongly of its effectiveness. In the experiment, discs were tested in a microwave oven to evaluate their ability to shield protein-based wafers, known in India as papadam and made from mung beans, from microwave-induced expansion and puffing caused by the electromagnetic field generated by the oven.
Although the papadam experiment does not directly model human exposure, the observed effect suggests that the disc may locally modify the microwave field distribution and reduce energy absorption in nearby materials. Such an effect would involve the same basic physical processes — electromagnetic field distribution and energy absorption — that are relevant to radiofrequency exposure from mobile phones.
THE DISC
Sacred geometry has been present in many areas of human life and culture for thousands of years. The symbol at the heart of FONADisc was born from a combination of our knowledge in this field and inspiration. We chose shungite as the carrier of the symbol because, in our empirical experience, it enhances the symbol’s effect more strongly than the other materials we have tested, while shungite itself has also proved valuable in our work with electromagnetic fields.
On the back of the disc there is a double-sided adhesive. After removing the protective film, the disc can be attached to a smooth, flat and clean surface. It can be fixed directly to a phone case or placed inside a case pocket, in which case no adhesive is required. The disc is fragile and may crack or break if subjected to strong impact. Based on current experience, its lifespan exceeds the typical period of use.
The disc has a diameter of approximately 40 mm and a thickness of 2–3 mm. Because of its natural origin, the surface of each disc may display various unique patterns and markings.
It is important to note that FONADisc is not a shielding device and does not interfere with the normal operation of electronic equipment. Its concept is based on the combined use of the FONADisc symbol and shungite rather than on blocking electromagnetic fields. In our opinion, it represents a simple and currently still affordable option for those who wish to use electronic devices more consciously.

EXPERIENCES
In one experiment, three incubators were observed over a period of twenty-one days. Each incubator contained ninety-eight chicken eggs.
– In the first incubator, a mobile phone in standby mode was placed at the center.
– In the second incubator, a mobile phone was also present, placed on a plate.
– The third incubator served as a control group and contained no mobile phone.
After twenty-one days, the loss in the control group was 11.2%. In the incubator containing only a mobile phone, only twenty-one chicks hatched, representing a loss of 78.57%. In the incubator where the phone was placed on a plate, the loss was 10.2%.
In another experiment, the effect of electromagnetic radiation on chicken embryos was examined. In the unprotected group, 47 out of 63 embryos (75%) did not survive. In the experiments conducted with protection, embryo mortality was reduced to 16%.
As we indicated above we made our own experiment. In the experiment, discs were tested in a microwave oven to evaluate their ability to shield protein-based wafers, known in India as papadams and made from mung beans, from microwave-induced expansion and puffing caused by the electromagnetic field generated by the oven. We placed several papadams on a plate. Under one of the papadams, we placed a disc. We turned the microwave oven on for thirty seconds. All the papadams puffed up except the one placed on the disc. We repeated the experiment several times and obtained the same results.
We do not consider these results to be conclusive scientific proof; however, they represent meaningful experiential observations for us.

Sacred geometry entered our lives in 2012, followed by shungite in 2015. As a family business, we have spent many years exploring and working with both. Since then, we have explored different ways of bringing these two fields together.
FONADisc is not our first such combination, but it is our latest: created in 2026 from years of experience, experimentation and inspiration. For us, FONADisc represents the meeting of ancient symbolism, a remarkable natural material and the technological world of our time.
